Rick Platt

VP of Sales

Rick Platt was appointed Vice President of Sales for Sunesys in August 2015, and is responsible for oversight of the Sunesys sales organization. Prior to that, Mr. Platt served as Vice President of Small Cell/DAS Sales for over four years, where he was tasked with growing the in-building/venue DAS business. Mr. Platt also served as Vice President of National Sales, where he was responsible for the Tower Field Sales organization and the day-to-day functions of the Distributed Antenna Systems business.

Since joining Crown Castle in February 2001, he has also served as Director of Sales, managing client accounts such as Nextel, Nextel Partners, Sprint, Alltel and XM Radio. Prior to joining the team, Mr. Platt worked with Nextel, Aerial Communications and McCaw Communications in various management positions.

Mr. Platt graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor's degree in Economics.

Alan Katz

VP of Enterprise Sales

Alan Katz is Vice President of Enterprise Sales for Sunesys. In his role, he oversees business development for Sunesys' diverse enterprise customer base driving revenue and strategic market growth. Since joining Sunesys in 1996, Mr. Katz has overseen the entire sales organization across Sunesys' K-12, enterprise and wholesale verticals in addition to running network operations early in his tenure.

Prior to forming Sunesys, Mr. Katz was owner/operator of an engineering and right of way business in the telecom sector.

Mr. Katz holds a BA from LaSalle University.

Sean Sands

Director of Finance, Non-Wireless

Mr. Sands is Director of Finance, Non-Wireless and is responsible for advising senior management on key business decisions and long-term strategy development. Major responsibilities include financial forecasting, capital planning, performance analysis as well as mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Sunesys, Mr. Sands was a Managing Director for Navigant Capital Advisors and KPMG Corporate Finance and a Vice President at CoreStates Investment Banking.

Mr. Sands holds a BS in Business Law and a MBA with a concentration in Finance from Temple University.

John Versaggi

Director of K-12 Sales

Mr. Versaggi is the Director of K-12 Sales for Sunesys. In this role, he is responsible for leading the K-12 education sales group. Prior to joining Sunesys in 2004, he held various management positions in sales, marketing and operations with AT&T.

Mr. Versaggi holds an MS in Management from Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia, PA.

Frank Mastrobattista

Director of Wholesale Sales

Frank Mastrobattista is the Director of Wholesale Fiber Sales for Sunesys and is responsible for national sales efforts with a team focused on business development for wireline providers.

Prior to joining the team, Frank was co-founder and CEO of Telecom Transport Management from 2003-2015. Frank is a 30-year veteran of the telecom industry, having worked for both wireless and wireline service providers as well as a telecom software provider in a variety of executive positions.

Mr. Mastrobattista co-founded Telecom Transport Management (TTM) in 2003, a company which pioneered competitive cell backhaul, delivering some of the first Ethernet service to the macro cell over both microwave and fiber networks. Prior to TTM, he co-founded New Century GlobalNet, an early provider of enterprise broadband delivered over hybrid fiber and wireless networks in Japan. Earlier in his career, Mr. Mastrobattista was Vice-President of Product and Program Management for AccessLine Communications, an enhanced services provider, and worked at Bell Atlantic Mobile Systems (now part of Verizon Wireless) focusing on business planning and European business development.

Mr. Mastrobattista holds a Bachelor's degree in Economics from Princeton University.

Michael Sassano

Director of Sales Engineering

Mike Sassano is the Director of Sales Engineering nationally for Sunesys. In his role, he is responsible for leading all pre-sales engineering and pricing efforts with a team focused on discovering customers' needs through a consultative approach and developing customized network solutions. Prior to that, Mr. Sassano held various roles within Sunesys including leading project management, wholesale sales, sales engineering and pricing.

Before joining Sunesys in 2002, Mr. Sassano held various management positions in sales, operations and project management with Infrasource Inc., Exelon Enterprises, and PECO Energy.

Mr. Sassano holds a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Drexel University and an MBA from Villanova University.

Emmet Flynn

District Manager, Lit Fiber (Northeast)

Emmet Flynn is the Northeast District Operations Manager for Sunesys, and is responsible for the primary construction and project management of all fiber projects in the Northeast. Since joining Sunesys in 2007, Mr. Flynn has managed a statewide build of over 1,700 miles of fiber across the state of Pennsylvania, in addition to hundreds of fiber builds in the Northeast corridor. Prior to joining the team, Mr. Flynn worked as a Project Manager for Verizon Business and has over 18 years of expertise in telecommunications and project management.

Mr. Flynn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Business Management and a Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.

Trent Horvath

District Manager, Lit Fiber (West)

Trent Horvath is the Western District Operations Manager for Sunesys, responsible for the primary construction and project management of all fiber projects on the West Coast. Mr. Horvath has over 15 years of experience in the engineering, design and construction of fiber optic networks and is responsible for overall project coordination and directing field operations. Throughout his tenure, Mr. Horvath has managed the construction of more than 100 school district and post-secondary education networks.

Mr. Horvath holds a Bachelor of Engineering - Industrial Systems.

Russell Doersch

District Manager, Lit Fiber (Central)

Russell Doersch is the Central District Operations Manager for Sunesys, and is responsible for the primary construction and project management of all fiber projects in the Midwest and Southeast regions. Mr. Doersch has been involved in all aspects of network builds including the engineering, procurement and construction of numerous projects. He has over 20 years of experience in telecommunications and energy infrastructure, and served as Senior Vice President of Infrasource Services prior to joining Sunesys.

Mr. Doersch holds a BS in Construction Management from the University of Wisconsin-Madison.
